Description

The Scarab has great importance in Egypt’s mythology. Egyptians have wondered about the little fertilizer beetle which is found everywhere in nature, it rolled a ball of dung and hid it in a hole. Every day it came out and repeated the process. Just as the sun is a round ball that rolls across the sky each day. The conclusion had to be that the beetle had a special life-giving force and that its task was probably to assist the sun get up in the sky in the morning by pushing it as fertilizer ball. The beetle that lives underground, seemed to reappear every day when it came to the surface to fly away. The scarab became a symbol of resurrection and eternal life. Scarabs were, therefore, a popular amulet in ancient Egypt
